South Kesteven leisure centres appoint new Swimming Development Manager
A Swimming Development Manager has been appointed at four leisure centres in South Kesteven. Bourne Leisure Centre, Deepings Leisure Centre, Grantham Meres Leisure Centre and Stamford Leisure Pool have welcomed Paul Fowler in their bid to connect with the community and promote health and fitness through swimming.
- Working to remove any barriers that prevent people from swimming and increasing awareness of its benefits throughout the local community, part of Paul’s role includes making sure that all children have the opportunity to learn to swim, stay safe and enjoy playing in and around water.
- Whilst Paul has gained broad experience in development work, Sports Event Management and even lecturing in sports science, he feels there is nothing more rewarding than providing opportunities for people to enjoy their swimming.
- Previously Swimming Development Manager for Active Luton in Bedfordshire, Paul was responsible for developing the swim school, promoting school swimming initiatives, including a Primary School Festival Gala, and teaching swimming to both adults and children in the community.
- He has also lectured in sports science and social science and has been involved in organising national level championship events for British Universities.
Quotations
Newly appointed Swimming Development Manager, Paul Fowler, said:
I have already met some amazing people and groups using their local South Kesteven swimming pools and I look forward to meeting many more. Part of my role is to communicate what our pools can offer with the community – if you would like to find out more about our facilities, you should definitely give your local centre a call or pop in as there are always friendly staff on hand to help.
