Castle Sports Complex helps member lose fourteen stone
Castle Sports Complex in Spalding has helped one of its members lose an astonishing 14 stone by offering continued support to one of its members as she started swimming in an effort to lose weight.
- Rebecca Sanford, aged 34, from Spalding joined as a member of Castle Sports Complex in November 2010, and has since been swimming in the pool every day in a bid to lose more than 15 stone in weight
- At her heaviest, Rebecca weighed 26 stone 11 pounds, but having suffered from arthritis for a number of years, Rebecca had started to experience a variety of health problems associated with weight gain, and turned to swimming, after finding other forms of exercise painful
- The buoyancy of the water helps to reduce the stress on painful joints while offering a great workout, and after more than a year of swimming everyday, Rebecca reached 12 stone 11 pounds

The pool at Castle Sports Complex has provided me with a way to lose weight, and by attending the public swim every day I have improved my health and fitness immeasurably. The staff at the centre are always supportive and helpful if need advice or have any questions, and the facilities are brilliant.
