Peterlee Leisure Centre launches free Healthy Challenge initiative
Peterlee Leisure Centre has this week launched a new Healthy Challenge course that aims to help members of the local community take a holistic approach towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. The free five-week course will take place every Wednesday in the Combat Room of the leisure centre and will feature a variety of relaxation techniques, exercises and handy health information.
- The sessions aim to be both fun and informative, and activities include smoothie making, exotic fruit tasting and a weekly weigh-in
- Participants will also receive expert advice on getting five fruit and vegetable portions a day
- They will also be offering tips on reading and understanding food labels

I think this class will prove really useful to many members of the community. Everybody is aware of the importance of doing exercise and eating well, but often it is not as easy as it sounds!
