Step into swimming at Downham Health & Leisure Centre
From Wednesday 12 October, Downham Health & Leisure Centre is offering swimming lessons for adults in Lewisham. Those aged between 40 and 75 are being encouraged to take the plunge and learn to swim for only £2 per lesson.
- The lessons aim to help older people learn to swim and increase their confidence in the water while making friends and staying fit and healthy
- The swimming lesson course begins on Wednesday 12th October and runs from 12 noon–12:30pm or 12.30–1pm and costs only £20 for 10 sessions

Members of the community aged between 40 and 75 can sometimes feel intimidated about not being able to swim, so we have launched these sessions as a way to encourage them into the water, improve their water confidence, but also offer a fun and sociable activity.
