Active IQ launches new Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety (QCF)
Active IQ, the awarding organisation of choice for the active leisure sector, has announced the launch of the Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety (QCF). Available now, the new qualification aims to allow learners to understand the practical and theoretical aspects of spectator safety at events.
- The qualification has been designed as a response to the increasing popularity of spectator orientated events across a number of sectors
- With no specific entry requirements (aside from basic communication skills) the qualification offers six mandatory units ranging from event preparation and conflict management to dealing with accidents and emergencies
Suzy Gunn, Operations Director at Active IQ, commented:
It really feels like an appropriate time to launch this qualification – particularly with all of the major spectator events taking place in Britain this summer. The London Olympics will put crowd safety at the forefront of the public mind and many employers will no doubt look for professionals with additional qualifications in this area.
The skills developed by this NVQ will give learners vital knowledge in the safe organisation and control of spectator events, and we are excited to have added it to our growing suite of qualifications. In addition to a number of planned new developments and qualifications, the next few months are shaping up to be an extremely busy and exciting time for the company.
