Leisure Connection is bucking the retail trend with latest sales figures
Following a report by the British Retail Consortium and KPMG, which shows that retail sales values are down by 3.3% on a like for like basis in the three month period leading up to April; established leisure management operator, Leisure Connection, is bucking this trend by releasing its latest like-for-like sales figures, which are up across the board. It reports strong growth across the entire operation of more than 55 leisure centres and health clubs across the UK.
- Revenue for Leisure Connection is at +4.8% like-for-like in fitness and +11.5% in swimming for the month of April
- Furthermore, the like-for-like revenue for Leisure Connection’s financial year to date is +2.6% in fitness, and +5.5% in swimming
Richard Millman, Chief Executive Officer at Leisure Connection, commented:
To see our like-for-like sales grow by such large percentages in the current economic climate is impressive. We are consistently developing our programmes across the board to better suit the needs of users and our dedication to delivering the very best community sports and leisure facilities and services is evident in our success in our FY12 financial year to date performance.
Sport, fitness and ultimately health are no longer seen as a luxury. More people understand the importance of maintaining a fit and active lifestyle. This shift in attitude, coupled with our commitment to excellence in local programming and service provision and value for money pricing structure is a win:win situation for the end user.
