Peterlee Leisure Centre gains top Quality Award
Peterlee Leisure Centre has been awarded top marks following a two-day quality assessment carried out in June. The QUEST quality assessment was carried out by Right Directions and Leisure-net Solutions and is the industry kite mark for measuring quality within sports and leisure centres.
- Following the assessment the leisure centre was awarded the category of “Excellent” – the highest mark that can be given
- Peterlee Leisure Centre is operated by Leisure Connection, which operates more than 50 leisure centres throughout the country and is the first Leisure Connection centre to achieve this award
- The quality assessment covers all aspects of operating sports and leisure facilities
- Day One of the assessment covered Business Planning, Continuous Improvement, Customer Experience, Team and Operations; while day two covered Swimming lessons, FIA Code of practice, Financial Management, Health & Safety and Sales

The result is a testimony to the great team at Peterlee and reflects a journey that started in 2003 when Leisure Connection first took over the management of the centre. The QUEST process is all about continuous improvement and our assessment scores have increased every two years. The centre will now work on the improvement plan and the team is striving to provide an improved service for local people.
